Ballet is considered the foundation of all other theatrical dance forms, and our classes cater to students as young as 3 years old as a foundation moving forward. Technique gained through the study of ballet is integral to mastering other dance forms. Grace, poise, control, balance, line, and coordination are developed alongside musicality and artistry. CDM Dance & Music is proud to offer Royal Academy of Dance (R.A.D) exams and class awards adhering to the R.A.D. Syllabus, used in 92 countries around the world. Students are recommended by teachers in November, should they be considered ready to participate in a Ballet exam or class award. Exam level 4 Ballet students perform individually, while class awards incorporate 8 students in front of a teacher.

The R.A.D “Graded Levels” Syllabus classes provide broad practical dance education by progressively developing the technical, musical and performance skills of each student, incorporating Classical Ballet, Free Movement, and Character Dancing. The R.A.D. “Vocational Levels” provide a more in-depth study of Classical Ballet, developing a higher level of classical technique, as well as the musicality and performance skills of the student, while introducing pointe work for female candidates. It prepares students for a dance or related career, and is appropriate for kids 11 years and up.
